About Division

Divisional headquarter of Sagar division is situated in Sagar District. This division is situated in northern central area of Madhya Pradesh. Its neighbors are Lalitpur District of UP in north, Narsinghpur (Jabalpur division) and Raisen (Bhopal division) in south, Vidisha (Bhopal division) and Guna District (Gwalior division) in west and Katni District in east. Sagar division is mainly agricultural based. As most of the areas are rural and depend on agriculture, Sagar is one of backward divisions of Madhya Pradesh. Soya bean and wheat are main crops. There are few large scale and mid scale industries. Tobacco industry covers most of the rural areas.
